Our Elevations History
We are a Louisiana based construction and project management company located in New Iberia, specializing in the structural elevation industry. With over 16 years of experience in elevations, Musso has extensive knowledge in tunneling, pile driving, lifting structures (slab, pier and beam, and slab-separate), footings, foundations, carpentry (decks, access decks, stairs, handrails, ADA ramps and elevators), final grade, punch list items, and working first-hand with engineers on design layouts, foundations, and lifting strategies. We are fully engaged during the entire process, attending every meeting with the homeowners and government agencies for pre-job, NTP awards, in-progress meetings, punch list walk-throughs, certificate of occupancy and final close out meetings.
Josh Musso, President of Musso Resources and a former owner of J&S Resources LLC, was the first contractor to lift a slab house for the state HMPG program back in 2008. Josh has earned his reputation from working on large scale federal projects, including the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) and Severe Repetitive Loss (SRL) Program for the state of Louisiana and all Louisiana parishes. Since then, Josh has elevated over 400 slab and pier homes in Vermilion and Calcasieu Parishes alone and over 1,000 homes statewide.
We use state of the art technology when performing a structural elevation in the form of a computerized unified hydraulic jack lifting system, which allows the entire structure to be raised by one operator, and allows less than a 1/10” (one-tenth inch) variance during the elevation process. We are the only company elevating homes in Louisiana or surrounding states with this computerized unified hydraulic jacking system, which is typically used in lifting drilling rigs and other heavy structures.

The Process of Elevating a Slab Home
Tunneling
We begin the elevation process by digging tunnels beneath the house slab. This allows us to position jacks and cribs that are essential for the next step of lifting the house. We then begin driving piles that will become the support structure of the home once it is lifted.
Lifting the house
We are the first and only elevation contractor that uses a compterized unified hydraulic system in Louisiana. Once the piles are driven, we set our jacks and cribs under the house and the lifting process begins. The house is lifted to the specified height required to bring it above base flood elevation (BFE).
Foundation & Chain Wall
Now that the house is lifted, we begin the process of back filling the tunnels that were dug and compacting the dirt, forming and pouring a new concrete footer around the house and installing a chain wall to help support the structure.
Finishing Touches
Once the foundation and chain wall are completed, the new steps and landings are constructed, all final inspections are completed and the project is complete!
